The Chevrolet Impala series is an automobile model designed by General Motors for the daily use of the American people towards the end of the 1950s. The outline of the model was laid out by Ed Cole, then chief engineer of General Motors. While the model was Chevrolet's most expensive model between 1958 and 1965, it left this title to Chevrolet's newly released Caprice as of 1965. According to the latest research, the Chevrolet Impala series went down in automobile history as the 8th best-selling model in the USA between 1958 and 1996. In addition, the Impala is one of the 20 best-selling models of 2008, according to a Reuters poll.
